The Morphettville Parks track is scheduled to host a nine-race card on Saturday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s South Australian horse racing expert presents his best bets and free quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail returns to the true position, and racing is set to commence at 12:31pm ACDT (1:01pm AEDT).
Morphettville Best Bet – Enchantingly
Our best bet of the day comes up when the Scott Westover-trained Enchantingly steps out over 1000m as she drops back in grade following a midfield defeat in the Group 3 How Now Stakes. Having chased home the likes of Bella Nipotina and La Mexicana, she was only defeated by 1.7 lengths after racing up on speed. The drop back in grade looks ideal, and despite dropping back to the 1000m for the first time in her career, we still think she will be far too good for this lot. From barrier six, Todd Pannell should have no qualms finding a spot just off the leader’s heels, and when asked for an effort at the top of the straight, the Choisir mare should prove too hard to hold out.
Next Best Bet at Morphettville – Star Of Uma
On the back of a four-week freshen up, we are expecting the Tony & Calvin McEvoy-trained Star Of Uma to send us home a winner in the final leg of the quaddie. She returns to the Morphettville Parks 1300m, a track and distance she has a win and a runner-up effort at from three runs. The I Am Invincible mare retains the services of apprentice Ben Price in a move which is sure to benefit her chances of an all-the-way victory. She looks set to gain an uncontested lead, and with the stable in elite form, striking at 25% this month, Star Of Uma should prove too good once again.
Best Value Bet at Morphettville – Tullys Gold
If the Ryan Balfour-trained Tullys Gold brings anything near his best to the Morphettville Parks 1250m, he looks a great value play in the opening leg of the quaddie. Having chased home The Billionaire when finishing midfield on October 9, we anticipate the son of Oamaru Force will appreciate getting back on to the Parks track. He draws barrier one, and with Barend Vorster on board he is sure to gain the suck run in transit. When the opportunity arises, we expect him to kick clear in the home straight and grip on in a return to form.
