Feature racing returns to Morphettville on Saturday afternoon, with the Listed John Letts Cup (1800m) headlining a stacked 10-race meeting. Perfect spring conditions are set to greet punters, while the track rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 6m the entire circuit. The action from the ‘City of Churches’ is set to commence at 11:32am ACDT.
John Letts Cup Tip: Arran Bay
Arran Bay brings some excellent form lines to the Listed John Letts Cup. He chased home Future History and Young Werther at Moonee Valley; went down by 1.5 lengths to Brayden Star, who was beaten by a lip in Wednesday’s Group 3 Bendigo Cup (2400m); and was outclassed in the Group 3 Coongy Cup (2000m) at Caulfield. While he has only five wins from 23 starts and needs things to be just-so on the day, the step back to 1800m in Listed company looks ideal. If Lachlan Neindorf can find the one-one from barrier nine, Arran Bay should prove too strong for a weak field like this.

Best Bet at Morphettville: Deepfloat Diva
Deepfloat Diva has two wins from two starts to begin his career. The three-year-old gelding wore down Wiggum at the Morphettville 1100m on October 21, and on his return to the track and trip, he looks to be too good once again. He draws perfectly in barrier one, from where Jake Toeroek can stalk the speed throughout. The son of Deep Field needs a touch of luck in the home straight, but if Deepfloat Diva is anywhere near his best, he can put this race away in a couple of strides.

Next Best at Morphettville: Jenkins
The Phillip Stokes-trained Jenkins has grown another leg since coming to Adelaide this campaign. He blew the cobwebs out over 1200m first-up before finishing too strongly for his rivals at 1400m and then again at 1600m. Despite dropping back to 1522m on Saturday, this race is no harder than what he has been competing in. The eight-year-old gelding draws perfectly in barrier five, and with Hannah Edgley sticking on board and claiming 3kg, the pair look set to gain every advantage. He will settle in the second half of the field, but with a well-timed sprint, Jenkins can finish over the top of his rivals once again.

Best Value at Morphettville: Celsius Star
Celsius Star returned with an impressive effort in BM82 company, so the step back to BM72 company looks ideal second-up. The five-year-old gelding has a win and a second to his name, and he can build on that record on Saturday. With plenty of speed drawn underneath him, he can take a sit off what looks to be hot speed over the 1050m. With Hannah Edgley’s 3kg claim, he gets in perfectly with 59kg on his back. With even luck, Celsius Star can finish over the top of odds-on favourite Sghirripa and cause a minor upset.
