The Parks track at Morphettville takes centre stage for racing fans in South Australia on Saturday afternoon with a nine-race card programmed. Despite no stakes events, there looks to be plenty of competitive racing throughout the day, with near-perfect conditions forecast. The track has come up a Good 4, with the rail out 9m from the 1000m to the winning post and then out 6m the remainder.
Best Bet at Morphettville: Chicago Storm
Chicago Storm has come back a treat this campaign and the five-year-old gelding can bring up a second win from three starts this preparation. Having been held up for a run when the winner was making his move last time out, the son of Trust in a Gust managed to finish nicely into second with a big gap back to third. Jason Holder will look to land this bloke in the first four upon settling. As long as he stays out of traffic, Chicago Storm should have a bit too much on his rivals in the opening leg of the quaddie.

Next Best at Morphettville: Connemara Queen
Connemara Queen is in a fine patch of form, winning three of her last four starts albeit in weaker company than BM70 grade. The Will Clarken & Nikki O’Shea-trained mare showed her tactical versatility when leading throughout at this track over 1400m. However, he best performances prior to that, came when settling off the speed and thundering home late on in the piece. With genuine speed expected in this, look for Ben Price to have this girl settled towards the rear. When asked to quicken, Connemara Queen should have to good a finishing burst for this lot.

Best Value at Morphettville: Jenkins
Despite being beaten five lengths first-up from a spell over 1200m, we’re happy to side with the Phillip Stokes-trained Jenkins as he steps up to the 1400m. The eight-year-old gelding has finished second at both of his starts on the Morphettville track and he looks like he can go one better. The eight-year-old gelding needs a genuine tempo to be prominent, but with Katim’s Club and Wine Barron potentially chopping at each other in the lead, Jenkins has the turn of foot to finish over the top of some vulnerable leaders.
Best Value
Race 3 – #2 Jenkins (7)
8yo Gelding | T: Phillip Stokes | J: Caitlin Jones (60kg)
