Race 1: BM80 Handicap (2028m)

We were with Silent Surrente in the opener on Robert Sangster Stakes Day and we are happy to butter up with her once again on Saturday. The four-year-old mare from the Will Clarken & Nikki O’Shea barn managed lead all of the way on that occasion and despite being challenged a furlong out from home, found plenty late and was holding her rivals at bay to the line. Ben Price sticks on board claiming 1.5kg and if he can find the rail aboard this Fiorente mare with little hassle, then the pair should be able to dictate terms once again and prove to hard to gun down at the track and trip for the second time in a row.

Race 2: BM72 Handicap (1050m)

Celsius Star from the Phillip Stokes yard has been low-flying recently bring up three straight wins and she presents great value as she chases a fourth win. The four-year-old gelded son of Zoustar has won both of his starts at this track and trip in recent times and has been doing so when up on speed and offer a kick late on in the piece. Sheridan Tomlinson sticks on board and with his 3kg claims getting Celsius Star in with just 57.5kg on his back, has him well weighted and with a bit of luck he can be sprinting clear of gis rivals once again.

Race 3: Group 3 David Coles AM Stakes (1200m)

The Group 3 David Coles AM Stakes for the juveniles is the first of the black-type events and we are hoping Down Low can walk away with the prize. The Mick Price & Michael Kent (Jnr)-trained filly was hitting the line strongly upon resumption in the Listed Without Fear Stakes over 1050m and despite needing to make up four lengths on Chilled and Iphimedia, we expect the longer trip will only suit this Deep Field filly. If Damien Oliver can have this girl settled a touch closer to the speed, she showed plenty late on at her last start and we anticipate a race like this isn’t beyond Down Low if she brings her best.

Race 4: Group 3 SA Fillies Classic (2500m)

Let’sbefrankbaby brings an element of class to the Group 3 SA Fillies Classic and her best should see her blow her rivals away in the 2500m event. The Frankel filly has won twice at Cranbourne this preparation and her only “failure” came when finishing third in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes on April 15. She has only had one start at the 2500m in her career and that was when finishing 6.5 lengths off She’s Extreme in the Group 1 VRC Oaks. With winning confidence on her side this time in and with just 56kg on her back, look for Jamie Mott to have her settled just off the speed and with a nice staying performance, Let’sbefrankbaby should prove too good for this lot and is a clear best bet of the day at Morphettville.

Race 5: Group 3 RA LEE Stakes (1600m)

My Khalifa was a smart winner at Listed level two runs back and despite being quite poor last time out in weaker class, we expect he will bounce back in style on Saturday. The gelded son of Pride of Dubai was well held at his first go over the mile on May 6 by Conqueror, but we anticipate drawing barrier one on Saturday will give him every chance of seeing out the trip this time around. Lachie Neindorf hops back on board and considering he has a record of 10: 4-2-1 when partnering My Khalifa, we know he will be given every conceivable hope throughout. When the run comes, hopefully My Khalifa can sprint the best and provide a minor upset in the Group 3 RA Lee Stakes.

Race 6: Listed Centaurea Stakes (2028m)

The Listed Centaurea Stakes opens the Morphettville quaddie on Saturday and with a bit more luck than what she received so far this campaign, Thought Provoking should take some beating. The five-year-old mare should have won at Mornington first-up, but simply found no clear air at a crucial point, before flashing home to be beaten a length to Unusual Culture when impeded for clear air at a crucial point. She gains the services of senior jockey Ben Melham for this and from barrier six, it’s expected she shouldn’t run into traffic issues on Saturday. Thought Provoking has a strong turn of foot and if she is anywhere near her best, she should just be winning this.

Race 7: Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m)

One of our better bets of the day comes up in the Group 3 Proud Miss Stakes as the Peter Moody-trained Foxicon looks to continue her impressive form. The four-year-old mare has four wins and a second to her name from five goes this time in and based on her 1200m win two runs back at Sandown suggests she is the one to beat here. Four horses from that race has since come out and won, including the smart Barbie’s Fox. She is at her best when saved for once last crack at her rivals and from barrier four under Billy Egan will be given every possible chance to put her rivals away in the Proud Miss Stakes.

Race 8: Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m)

The Goodwood at Group 1 level has attracted a strong field of 17 horses vying for Group 1 glory with 14 of the 17 runners looking to break their Group 1 maiden. Can Lofty Strike grab his deserved Group 1, can Savatoxl pick up another Goodwood or with the three-strong Godolphin team walk away with another Group 1 victory this season?

Race 9: BM64 Handicap (1200m)

We were with Toast The Deel to get the job done over Jacks On Ice last time out and we expect the same thing will happen on Saturday once again. The four-year-old Dundeel mare needed every bit of the 1200m to get the better of her well-fancied rival and with a similarly run race expected this time around, Toast The Deel should get the race run to suit. Barrier 15 is a concern, but if Ben Price can have her settled in the three wide line with cover, she produced a strong turn of foot last time out and with just 56.5kg on her back on the weekend, there is no reason why she cannot do so once again.
