South Australian metropolitan racing returns to the Parks track at Morphettville Racecourse this Saturday for a competitive nine-race program. Perfect conditions are set to greet punters and competitors with a track rated a Good 4 in the leadup, while clear skies are forecast throughout the day. The rail comes out 9m for the entire circuit, with the meeting getting underway at 12:17pm ACDT.
Morphettville Best Bet: My Khalifa
We will be looking to make our presence known early on Saturday when the Gordon Richards & Damien Moyle-trained My Khalifa pushes to make it four successive wins on the Parks track. The four-year-old gelding has put together three straights wins in impressive style when giving his rivals a start and then a beating each time. The race looks perfectly set up for Todd Pannell to take a sit off the leaders drawn directly outside of him and have My Khalifa peeling off their backs inside the final furlong. The Pride Of Dubai progeny has a strong turn of foot for BM78 grade and with even luck in a small field where tactics will be crucial, My Khalifa should simply be too good for this lot once again.

Next Best Bet at Morphettville: Tycoon Bec
Matt Cumani sends his lightly raced six-year-old mare Tycoon Bec to the Morphettville Parks track for the first time and she looks perfectly placed. The Written Tycoon mare steps out from a tough race during the Melbourne Cup Carnival and brings arguably the best form lines into a race like this BM68 she strikes third-up from a spell. Considering she has already won when third-up into a campaign, there is no reason why the chestnut can repeat that effort once again. From barrier eight, we expect to see Barend Vorster take up the running and gain an uncontested lead over the 1950m event. If that is the case, Tycoon Bec should be a $2.30 chance rather than $3.30 with online betting sites, as she simply looks a class above her rivals.

Despite Philonize ($1.80) and Midwest ($3.20) expected to fight out this BM82 scamper over 1000m, we are happy to side with the Bryan Holtham-trained Heka Express at a double figure quote. The six-year-old mare relished a hot tempo when third-up from a spell in a similar race to this and quickened nicely inside the final furlong to go on to win comfortably by over a length. She is set to gain a similarly run race on Saturday with the two market elects with online bookmakers expected to go hell for leather up in front. With 2kg claiming apprentice Jacob Opperman on board, the fact she goes around with just 58kg on her back, Heka Express looks a great play if she can repeat her last start finishing burst.
