We return to Morphettville for metropolitan racing in South Australia on Saturday afternoon with a massive 10-race program. Perfect conditions are set to greet us on the weekend with the track coming up a Soft 5, whilst the rail comes out 2m from the 1200m to the winning post and sits true for the remainder. The action from Morphettville is set to get underway at 11:32am ACDT.
John Letts Cup Top Tip: The Map
The Listed John Letts Cup (1800m) is the feature event out of Morphettville this weekend and it is hard to go past the Dan Clarken & Oopy MacGillivray-trained The Map. Having sat just off the speed in a BM68 event over 1950m, the Alpine Eagle mare managed to produce a strong turn of foot inside the final furlong and put close to two-lengths on her closest rival. From barrier six and with just 53kg on her back, she looks set to gain a similar run in transit as she did last time out and despite stepping back from 1950m to the 1800m, she looks the one to be with. She is already placed at Stakes level in her short 10-race career and Saturday looks the day The Map gains her first black-type success.

Morphettville Best Bet: Pudding
Having coasted to victory first-up from a six-month spell, the Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained Pudding looks to be a clear best bet of the day on Saturday. Despite having to travel wide throughout on that occasion, the Tavistock gelding managed to round up his rivals in impressive fashion and looks set to go on with the job here. From barrier 11, he’ll need to give his rivals a start from the rear of the field, but with a similar finishing burst he looks to have a bit of untapped ability compared to his rivals. The $5 on offer with online betting sites is simply impossible to ignore.

Next Best Bet at Morphettville: Jet Jitsu
With two wins and a runner-up effort from three starts this campaign, the Andrew Bobbin-trained Jet Jitsu looks to continue his strong form when he steps out over 1200m. The four-year-old gelding managed to build through his gears nicely at Mildura on October 4 and managed to pull away from his rivals late on to show he is one to follow moving forward. Barrier 13 is offset by his want to settle at the rear of the field and with Alana Kelly on board and claiming 1.5kg, the conditions look perfect for Jet Jitsu to build through his gears and storm down the centre of the track.

Best Value at Morphettville: Madam Furphy
The Darren Magro & Aimee Bush-trained Madam Furphy is as honest a sprinter you could hope for, and she gets her chance to bring up an overdue city class win. The four-year-old mare was nabbed in the shadows of the winning post over the Mount Gambier 900m on October 19 by Grand Host who she meets once again, this time 4kg better at the weights. Despite drawing barrier 11, we expect Jessica Eaton to have this mare coasting along out in front and give her rivals something to chase over 1100m. She hardly knows how to run a poor race and if Madam Furphy gains a relatively uncontested lead, she has race fitness and the form on her side to take out a race like this.
