Horse racing action out of Adelaide comes from the Parks circuit at Morphettville on Saturday afternoon, when a competitive nine-race program is scheduled. Perfect conditions for racing are expected, with a top of 26 degrees forecast, so the currently rated Good 4 track should see an upgrade to a Good 3 early on in the day. The rail comes out 3m from the 1000m to the winning post, while it is true the remainder. The meeting will commence at 12:17pm ACDT.
Best Bet at Morphettville: Chicago Storm
We were with Chicago Storm last time out where he was the definition of a good thing beaten and we are willing to butter up once again this weekend. The four-year-old gelding blew the start first-up over 1200m and then had the audacity to flash home late to go down by the barest of margins. Barend Vorster sticks on board and will be wanting to lift this bloke to a second-up victory. The son of Trust in a Gust is becoming a costly commodity winning twice from eight starts and finishing second on four other occasions. However, he strikes a winnable BM68 and considering he drops 1.5kg from his last start, he looks primed for this. As long as he jumps cleanly from the gates, Vorster will want to have him settled in the one-one and when asked for an effort, his turn of foot should see him running away from his rivals in this BM68.

Next Best at Morphettville: Royal Mile
Lee Creek will be hoping his five-year-old gelding Royal Mile can build on his eye-catching return in the Listed Durbridge Stakes. If he does go on with the job, the $5 being bet with online betting sites is a ridiculous price and makes him one of the better plays of the day. Having settled at the rear of the field on that day, the son of Danerich unleashed a stunning turn of foot to go down by 1.5 lengths over the unpreferred 1100m. The step up to 1400m second-up seems perfect and considering he has a win and three seconds to his name when second-up. He will be giving main market rival Saskatoon a start, but we expect Royal Mile to finish over the top of that runner and bring up a long overdue win 15 months in the making.

Best Value at Morphettville: Miss Kermie
We will be looking to bow out in the last in fine style when the Phillip Stokes-trained Miss Kermie steps out over 1400m. The four-year-old returned in good enough form at Murray Bridge on February 1 when finishing third when hitting the line strongly late. That effort was over 1200m, so the extra 200m she gains on Saturday looks to suit her perfectly. The daughter of Kermadec’s only win came at 1400m, so we’re hopeful this is just the tonic she needs to get back into the winner’s stall. Look for Kayla Crowther to have her at the rear of the field, but with a genuine tempo expected throughout, Miss Kermie should have no issue in going through her gears and producing a strong finishing sprint to salute at a nice price with online bookmakers.
