Racing returns to Moonee Valley this Friday evening with a competitive eight-race program is set down for decision. HorseBetting’s Victorian form expert has found a couple of best bets, along with top odds from leading online bookmakers and quaddie picks for the night. Racing is set to commence at 6:15pm AEDT on a track rated a Good 4, while the rail returns to the true position for the entire circuit.
Best Bet at Moonee Valley: Flying Temptress
We were with the Clint McDonald-trained Flying Temptress last Friday night at Cranbourne before she was scratched and saved for another day and we are happy to butter up and side with her again on Friday. The filly was held up at a crucial point on debut at the Moonee Valley 1200m and with a return to the track and trip for this, we expect the filly to go one better with better luck in running. Blaike McDougall sticks on board and from barrier four will give the Capitalist filly the run of the race in the one-one. She showed a strong turn of hoof on debut and a repeat finishing burst should have Flying Temptress making amends for her debut effort and bringing up a deserved maiden victory.

Next Best at Moonee Valley: Pitchanun
The Danny O’Brien-trained Pitchanun comfortably beat all bar Vegas Knight at the Moonee Valley 2040m on November 18 and is back to go one better this time round. Having gone down by a nostril and putting three-lengths on Meiner Legacy back in third, points for this Savabeel mare to be one of the better bets under the lights. From barrier three, Blake Shinn will have this girl stalking the leaders wherever they go and with even luck on the home turn, we expect to see Pitchanun pinch a gap and bring up a win nearly 12 months in the making. She has a win and two runner-up efforts at The Valley and in a field that is no harder than last time out, she should simply be winning.

Best Value at Moonee Valley: Chosen Blonde
Chris Bieg brings his speedy five-year-old mare Chosen Blonde back to the Moonee Valley 955m and with Sheridan Clarke on board claiming 3kg, she looks hard to gun down. The Choisir mare had strung together consecutive victories to begin her campaign in Adelaide before finding the going a bit tougher than usual at her previous two. She looks set to gain every favour on Friday night and with Clarke’s 3kg claim will go around with just 57kg on her back. There looks to be plenty of speed drawn either side of her, but if Clarke can lob Chosen Blonde in the one-one, she has the turn of hoof to trouble a BM64 field like the one she faces on Friday.
Best Value
Race 5 – #7 Chosen Blonde (5)
