The Stephen Nickalls-trained mare Llanacord (NZ) (Contributer) will be seen back at Hawke’s Bay on the final day of their spring carnival for the Gr.1 Livamol Classic (2040m) on October 16.
The daughter of Contributer finished seventh in last Saturday’s Gr.1 Windsor Park Plate (1600m) won by Callsign Mav, and was strong through the line after missing the start.
“She was super. We were over the moon with her run. She slipped as she jumped out the gates and that didn’t help her cause and she got a little bit further back than intended,” Nickalls said.
“She hit the line as well as anything and she came through the run very well.
“The plan at this stage is to go back for the Livamol and have a crack.”
Llanacord was the winner of the Gr.2 Lowland Stakes (2100m) last season and went on to place in the Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) and the Gr.3 SA Classic (2500m) in Adelaide.
