The Kyneton Racing Club will host a competitive nine-race card on Monday. The track is currently rated a Soft 6 but with warm weather on the forecast over Sunday and Monday, we should be in the Good range come race day. The rail will be in the 4m position from the 1200m mark to the winning post and in the true position for the remainder.
Racing will kick off at 1:00pm AEDT.
Best Bet at Kyneton: Takara
In the second race of the day, our best bet will be the Ciaron Maher & David Eustace-trained Takara who will be second up this preparation and looking to break her maiden career start number four. At her most recent start on October 16 at Horsham over 1400m, this girl was held up from the 600m mark to the home bend and didn’t get a chance to build momentum into the race and by the time she got clear running room, the leader was off and gone with the prize. After getting clear running room this daughter of Maurice let down nicely and finished off strong, which is encouraging for a mare who will step up slightly in distance to 1469m. From barrier eight, Beau Mertens shouldn’t get strung up in traffic on the fence and if she finds the outside on the home bend, she should be able to put this field away.

Next Best at Kyneton: Silent Scream
After an impressive debut win – at massive odds – at Terang over 1200m on November 12, the Andrew Campell-trained Silent Scream will be our next best bet at Kyneton. This three-year-old filly was $61 with online bookmakers on debut, however, she won like she was even money, running away from the field to record a 1.25 length victory. This daughter of Smart Missile backed up the decent jump-out form by winning her debut start, after sitting in behind the leaders and coming off their backs to kick away in the concluding stages. We won’t be getting the $61 that punters saw last start, but the $4.40 looks a good bet to us in the Benchmark 58 on Monday.

Best Value at Kyneton: L’il Outback Lass
Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young will bring their three-year-old filly, L’il Outback Lass, to a three-year-old Maiden Plate over 1112m after running a nice third last start at this track over 1100m on November 15. This daughter of Capitalist was held up before the turn and changed tracks two or three times before eventually following the second horse through on the inside and finishing off nicely. With a bit more luck on Monday from Beau Mertens and if she settle closer to the leaders than she did last start, she should give a huge sight and double figures for her followers.
