A seven-race program has been assembled for the Randwick-Kensington track on Wednesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s New South Wales racing analyst brings you his best bets and quaddie numbers for the card. Racing on a Soft 7 with the rail in the true position should see the track play reasonably well throughout the day. The first race is set to jump at 12:50pm.
Kensington Best Bet: Dundee Lee
Kris Lees and Brenton Avdulla combine in the last race of the day with Dundee Lee. A winner of six races, this daughter of Dundeel gets her favoured conditions on Wednesday – a Soft track and 1550m. A three-time winner over this distance and with all wins coming on rain-affected going, this quality five-year-old mare should relish racing on this track. Drawn perfectly in barrier one, Avdulla will have her scraping the paint early to hold a prominent position, and they should be able to bustle into clear air in the concluding stages. Dundee Lee’s last-start victory at Wyong was certainly pleasing, and at the $6, we are happy to be on again.

Next Best at Kensington: King Of Sparta
Peter & Paul Snowden’s talented two-year-old King Of Sparta will be looking to break through for his first career win when he returns to the races on Wednesday in a 2YO Maiden over 1150m. The gelded son of I Am Invincible has had just four career starts, with his best result being a second to the Group 1-placed Hilal on debut, and he has since had form around Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside as well as solid fourths in both the Group 2 Silver Slipper and Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes. He should find this much easier, and with Regan Bayliss in the saddle from barrier five, he should get every chance. King Of Sparta debuted at this track and distance when second to Hilal, so a repeat of that effort should see him beating these.

Kensington Value Bet: Nikau
James Cummings and Kerrin McEvoy combine in the second leg of the quaddie with the in-form Nikau. The three-year-old filly won her first two runs this campaign before falling short against The Empire and Centimental at Warwick Farm on June 14 over 1300m. She does stay at that trip, but with plenty of speed on paper from odds-on favourite Skedaddle and a number of outsiders, the race can be set up for something to make ground. Nikau’s turn of foot has been proven to be a good one, and her win on a Soft track two starts ago should see her get through the going without too many issues. She can get back to the winner’s circle.
