Eight races have been scheduled for the Randwick-Kensington track on Wednesday, June 29. HorseBetting’s New South Wales horse racing analyst presents you with his best bets, value bet and quaddie numbers for the program, with the first bet coming up in the opening race. The track is rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 3m for the entire course. The meeting will get underway at 12:15pm AEST.
Best Bet at Kensington – Himalaism
There’s no other word to describe Himalaism’s first-up run than sick. The two-year-old colt trialled brilliantly behind subsequent debut winner Alberich, but barrier two ended up being the colt’s worst nightmare as he looked for runs the entire way up the straight here on the Kensington track. The son of I Am Invincible had the right two-year-old form from earlier in his career behind Golden Slipper winner Fireburn, and he is in the right stable – Chris Waller’s. Hugh Bowman replaces Brenton Avdulla on Wednesday, and while barrier one is a bit nerve-wracking, we are trusting the patient jockey that is Bowman to get the maiden galloper out at the right time to win.
Best Bet
Race 1 – #4 Himalaism (1)

Next Best at Kensington – Ramones
There were that many two-year-old colts and geldings nominated for the maiden on Wednesday that Racing NSW had to split the race into two, so the youngsters open the card this week in races one and two. Luckily for us, the two key chances were separated, so we are hoping to start the day with back-to-back winners. Ramones comes out of the same race as Himalaism over 1100m at this track on June 15, but he actually beat our ‘Best Bet’ home by 0.35 lengths. The Joseph Pride-trained gelding has finished second in his two starts to date, with his debut run coming 3.5 lengths behind subsequent Saturday winner Kibou. Drawn barrier four under Jason Collett who is fresh off success at Eagle Farm, the Zoustar gelding should get the run of the race on the speed and be able to go one better and win at start three.

Best Value at Kensington – Billiondollarbaby
We have always had a bit of time for this I Am Invincible filly, Billiondollarbaby. Out of Stradbroke Handicap and Tatt’s Tiara-winning mare Srikandi, we have had high hopes for this girl from day one. The Peter & Paul Snowden-trained three-year-old won her first two starts in comfortable fashion as a two-year-old, before putting in a complete stinker last August. She had a long time on the sideline, before trialling twice in April. First-up she was a drifting favourite at Canterbury and ran accordingly, while last start at Randwick she ran a very credible fourth to Siege, making up good ground late over 1000m. She steps out to 1150m now third-up, gets William Pike in the saddle and finds herself drawn in the middle of the line in gate seven – three big positives. This is a nice race for this filly to get some confidence back up.
