Verdi will be represented by his first crop of yearlings at Karaka at the end of this month.
He began his stallion career at Long Acres Stud, the Canterbury operation of Myles Gordon and Deborah Clark, in association with Monovale Farm, for an initial fee of $3,000+gst in 2017.
The son of Zabeel won three of his eight starts before a tendon injury prematurely ended his career.
Trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman, Verdi is a half-brother to dual Group One winner Puccini and multiple Group One-winning people’s champion, Sir Slick.
