In-form Melbourne jockey Jye McNeil has been successful in an appeal against a suspension for his ride in the Chester Manifold Stakes.
McNeil rode four winners at last Saturday’s Flemington meeting, including the feature race on Amadeus.
McNeil was later found guilty of careless riding aboard Amadeus near the 1000m of the 1400m-race and given a 10 meeting penalty.
Two of those meetings were to be served concurrently with a nine-meeting ban from Sandown earlier that week.
The Victorian Racing Tribunal this week upheld McNeil’s appeal against the Flemington suspension and dismissed the charge, with the panel not comfortably satisfied based on the video evidence that McNeil was guilty.
He is free to return after his Sandown suspension expires on Sunday night.
McNeil leads this season’s Victorian premiership with 59 winners and is fourth in the metropolitan standings with 24.
Eight of his metropolitan wins have come in the first four meetings of 2020.
