Jockey Kate Walters suspended Three Months for improper behaviour

Jockey Kate Walters has received a three-month suspension following a verdict of disrespectful behaviour, towards a stipendiary after a race at the Nhill races on Boxing Day in Australia.

The Racing Victoria stewards finalised their investigation on Thursday, considering testimonies from Racing Victoria and club officials.

As per the stewards report, Walters was involved in behavior that was deemed detrimental to the interests of racing under AR 228(c).

When determining the penalty, the stewards took into account the nature of her comments, her plea, personal circumstances, and her previous disciplinary record.

Immediately, Walter’s riding license has been suspended for three months until Thursday, April 4.

Matthew Hyland from the Victorian Jockeys Association represented her during the inquiry process.

Licensed trainer Kane Post gave evidence on Walters behalf.
