In case you missed it – Hara’s Skipper, Spring Port and Make No Promise

Form expert Dale Code has picked out a selection of runs from around Victoria that have caught the eye over the past fortnight.

#1 HARA’S SKIPPER (Box 6)
Breeding:
 Aug ’20 Sennachie x Hara’s Annie
Trainer: Vicki Wisener, Devon Meadows
Record: 12 starts 5-2-2

Dale says: Super win at Sandown Park by rising star Hara’s Skipper who, after missing the start, found trouble, but showed a great will to win and burst of speed to pick up a smart sprinter in Andre Bale and still, somehow, post a fast victory in 29.45 seconds.

#2 SPRING PORT (Box 4)
Breeding:
Sep ’20 Aston Dee Bee x Spring Glass
Trainer: Lisa Delbridge, Balliang
Record: 24 starts 7-4-5

Dale says: One of the best supported runners of the meeting, favourite punters had their concerns when Spring Port missed the start and, following a good recovery, he found bother at a crucial stage and lost further ground.

Forced wide as they approached the home straight, he went into overdrive and recorded a most impressive win.

#3 MAKE NO PROMISE (Box 5)
Breeding:
Jan ’21 Fernando Bale x Veloso
Trainer: Paul Bartolo, Little River
Record: 7 starts 3-1-1

Dale says: Make No Promise had to overcome a slow beginning and plenty of interference in what was a sublime chasing effort.

Following a tight photo finish and careful deliberation from the judge, Make No Promise was declared the winner by the narrowest of margins in a truly eye-catching performance.
