“Delta” Alert Level 2 will see some changes to how race meetings are held and what industry participants / licenceholders are allowed to do.
The change of Alert Levels will come into effect at 11.59pm (Tuesday 7 September), with the whole of the country south of Auckland going to Alert Level 2.
This means that trials and race meetings will go ahead on home courses.
So this week, for instance, Rangiora will have trials tomorrow, Cambridge and Wyndham host meetings on Thursday, with Addington on Friday and Methven on Sunday.
Unlike Alert Level 3 last week, people ARE allowed to travel throughout the regions, meaning drivers in Canterbury can drive in Southland and vice versa.
If you are in Oamaru for instance you no longer have to choose whether you drive in Southland or Canterbury – you are free to do both.
Owners can travel with their horses, though owners will only be allowed on-course for trials and meetings as long as THEIR own horse/s are racing at that particular meeting. However they should check with the club to determine if they need to pre-register their attendance.
There may be limited food and beverage available at both trials and race meetings.
Scanning, face mask wearing, social distancing and established Covid protocols are also mandatory.

Thank you all for following what is advised as it ensures we are able to continue to race.
Our support goes to those in the Auckland region and we hope you join us in Alert Level 2 (or better) very soon.
