He’s No Slouch won the $19,500 Waterloo Cup Final on Sunday afternoon at Lang Lang, defeating Master Ogilvie in the 149th running of the event.
A litter brother to million-dollar sprinter Wow She’s Fast, He’s No Slouch stepped out of his sister’s giant shadow, claiming coursing’s holy grail after enduring six courses across consecutive Sundays without defeat.
He’s No Slouch started this morning’s second day with a bye in the quarter finals, however he still had to run on his own.
He’s No Slouch was bred and is owned by the Amstel Syndicate, which is managed by Peter Craig.
It was just reward for Craig, with the Langwarrin trainer landing his second Waterloo Cup in eight years, having devoted much of his life to coursing being the long-serving President of the National Coursing Association.
Semi-final action earlier in the day saw He’s No Slouch defeat Rothwell Chunk (Murray Collyer), while Master Ogilvie (James Shaw) got the better of kennelmate Nine Nine.
The Waterloo Cup brings a close to Victoria’s 2022 coursing season.
