Hawkesbury Race Club will host a seven-race card on Sunday afternoon with some competitive provincial racing and plenty of progressive gallopers prepared to go around. We’re currently doing the form for a very heavy-10 track with showers forecast across the entire weekend. The rail sits in the true position for the meeting, so we’ll be looking for runners to utilize the fresh ground, particularly early in the card where you’ll find our best bets for the meeting.
The first race is scheduled for 1:35pm AEST and we finish off with the last to jump at 5:15pm AEST
Best Bet at Hawkesbury – On The Beach
We don’t have to wait long for our best bet in the form of On The Beach in race three. This Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained three-year-old filly looks to break her maiden status here second-up after a very credible effort first-up at Warwick Farm on September 14 when beaten 2.8 lengths. She was beaten by race rival Secaution that day, however while that horse comes here without a trial in between, our runner went back to the trials in stylish fashion winning at Randwick on September 26 hard held by 4.5-lengths. Look for Brenton Avdulla to press forward on this Not A Single Doubt filly and lead with relative ease, from there we think she’ll simply be too hard to catch in the straight.

Next Best at Hawkesbury – Edna
Our value play of the day comes in race four, Token Capitalist. This progressive gelding by Capitalist looks to find his second win in just his third start for the Annabel Neasham yard, after winning here at Hawkesbury two starts back, he then went to find a heavy track at Newcastle on September 24 and just got grabbed on the winning post. He was toughing it out to the line that day and had every right to fall away but just kept finding, if he can replicate a similar effort, he looks hard to run down in our opinion. We get the in-form Alysha Collett on here who looks to dictate terms to her rivals, find late yet again, but unlike last time it’ll be a victory.
