What Hamilton Races

When Tuesday, December 7, 2021
First Race 1:30pm AEDT

Hamilton Racing Club is set to host an eight-race card on Tuesday afternoon, and HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst presents his best bets and free quaddie numbers for the meeting. The track is rated a Good 4, the rail returns to the true position, and racing will commence at 1:30pm AEDT.

Hamilton Best Bet – Enigma

We were with the Mick Price & Michael Kent Jr-trained Enigma when she saluted over the Hamilton 1109m on November 22, and we think she can make it consecutive wins at the track and distance. The five-year-old Time For War mare managed to sit just off the leader’s rear on that on that day and was quick to put away Mr Exclusive and the rest when asked for an effort in the home straight. On paper, this race looks no harder than that BM58 she won easily last time out, and with Tianni Chapman on board claiming 3kg, we expect her to go to the front and dictate terms as Enigma looks to bring up consecutive wins for the first time in her career.

Next Best at Hamilton – Boga Dream

Austy & Harry Coffey are set to combine with last-start Swan Hill maiden winner Boga Dream, who looks well placed as he steps into BM58 company. He tends to want to settle in the first half a dozen, but from barrier seven, Harry Coffey will need a touch of luck to find him cover up on speed. If he is afforded that, this son of So You Think showed a nice turn of foot last time out, so it is hard to see how some of his rivals can go with him late on over the 1600m.

Best Value at Hamilton – Stately Star

In the third leg of the quaddie, we will be hoping the Carly Cook-trained Stately Star can break a run of minor placings and bring up a deserved second victory. It’s been close to two years since the five-year-old son of Rebel Raider broke his maiden at Morphettville, and he has been knocking on the door this preparation with runner-up finishes in three of his past four starts. He settled three wide with no cover at Penshurst on November 20 and did well to go down by a short half-head. From barrier three, Campbell Rawiller will look to lob him onto the back of the leaders, and with even luck in the home straight, we anticipate Stately Star will finally get his moment once again.

Best ValueRace 7 – Stately Star (#8) $9 with Ladbrokes
