With community engagement becoming increasingly important as we continue to manage COVID-19 lockdowns, Sale Greyhound Club continues to reach out to a variety of community groups in its local area.
Every month the Sale GC invites groups to join them at its venue to raise funds and increase awareness within the community about their group or cause.
“We welcome well over one hundred community clubs, non for profit and charity organisations every year and donate many hundreds of thousands of dollars to those same organisations.. we feel it’s an important part of us as a community club,” said Sale GC General Manager, Peter Johnson.
July was a busy month, with the local Gippsland football netball club – the Sale Magpies – raising $3000 from selling raffle tickets and the Sale GC gifting it the sale of race names.
Gippsland FNC Treasurer, Craig Patterson (pictured above left), was recently interviewed live from the track by Sale Greyhound Operations Manager Rob Popplestone as part of SEN Track’s regular Sunday night radio program, Sale Greyhounds.
Later in the month the Little Jem Foundation visited the club for a fundraiser to help them in their quest to provide assistance to families in Gippsland who experience the sudden loss of a baby or child, whether during pregnancy, as a newborn, or as a young child.
