Provincial racing heads to Gosford on Tuesday afternoon for an eight-race program at The Entertainment Grounds. It’s sunny skies predicted heading into race-day, and we’re scheduled to be racing on a Good 4 track with the rail out +2m between the 1100m-300m and true for the remainder. We’re set to get underway at 1:15pm AEDT.
Best Bet: Jack Duggan
Jack Duggan is our best bet in race five on the card in this BM64 contest over the 1900m. Jason Deamer trains this gelding by Jack Milton, and after a dominant 8.8-length win in a country meeting at Quirindi on October 29, it seems he has found a new lease on his racing career. He looks beautifully placed after that win coming to Gosford in what’s clearly his career-best form, and if he can bounce from that soft victory last start, he must be very hard to beat here. Dropping down to the 55.5kg with class jockey Tim Clark hopping aboard, even at the shorter quote, we’re keen to be with him.
Best Bet
Race 5 – #7 Jack Duggan (6)

Next Best: Watch The Clock
Watch The Clock will be looking to break his maiden status here over the 1200m first-up for the Rob Quinton yard. With just the one career start behind Karuta King on July 14 where he was even to the line and beaten by 3.4 lengths, he looks to have trialled very well at Randwick on October 28 heading into this race. He was well back in the trial and stormed past the post under a strong hold, and he should relish the drying conditions he’s yet to see. We get gun jock Sam Clipperton on here, and from a soft draw in barrier three, Watch The Clock should be in the box seat before chasing down his rivals late.

Value Bet: Chilli Jam
Chilli Jam for the Joseph Pride stable looks a cracking each-way bet in the penultimate race on the card. This filly by Hellbent find a nice F&M maiden contest here over the 1100m to get her first career victory. She looks to bounce off two trials and a 160-day spell but, more importantly, looks to have a great run to her name from last preparation when beaten 8.3 lengths by Kibou. While the margin isn’t flattering, a much firmer surface here should suit, plus her trials look to have her ready to peak early in the prep. Reagan Bayliss takes the reins and will take Chilli Jam towards the rear of the field, but with plenty of speed on paper, she should get here chance to salute at a great each-way price with top online bookmakers.
