What Gosford Races
Where The Entertainment Grounds – 4 Racecourse Rd, West Gosford NSW 2250
When Thursday, April 10, 2025
First Race 12:55pm AEST

Gosford Racecourse is the destination for provincial racing on Thursday afternoon, with a competitive eight-part program set for decision. The rail moves out +3m the entire circuit, and with the surface rated a Soft 6 at the time of acceptances along with more light rainfall forecast leading into race-day, punters can expect that rating to hold. Gosford races are set to commence at 12:55pm local time.

Best Bet at Gosford: Sharon Drive

Sharon Drive was no match for Mogul Monarch on the Kensington surface at Randwick on March 26 but surged late to suggest she is worth following back to provincial company. The daughter of Zousain lost touch with her rivals turning for home but showed good fight in the final furlong, with the three-year-old likely to relish the immediate step-up to the mile second-up. She should be in striking distance from gate six with Tyler Schiller in the saddle, and with Sharon Drive bringing an element of quality to this Class 1 contest, expect her to justify the short price with horse racing bookmakers.

Best Bet

Race 1 – Sharon Drive Silks#2 Sharon Drive (6)

3yo Filly | T: Chris Waller | J: Tyler Schiller (58.5kg)

Next Best at Gosford: Extreme Diva

It’s hard to believe Extreme Diva is still a maiden heading into start 11; however, that shouldn’t be the case after Thursday afternoon. The daughter of Extreme Choice closed on the heels of Shambretta over the 1000m at Wyong on March 12, with the three-year-old savaging the line amongst the small field of six. Zac Lloyd gets legged aboard and has the option to take luck out of the equation from stall three, and provided the pair can tick over some soft sectionals in the middle stages, expect Extreme Diva to scoot clear and claim her first win.

Next Best

Race 2 – Extreme Diva Silks#6 Extreme Diva (3)

3yo Filly | T: John O’Shea & Tom Charlton | J: Zac Lloyd (56.5kg)

Best Value at Gosford: Lady Olenna

Lady Olenna was heavily backed into favouritism with debuting at Scone on March 21, with the Shalaa filly knocking up in the concluding stages to suffer a 1.3-length defeat. It looked a shade disappointing on face value; however, she didn’t seem to pickup in the bottomless conditions, and warrants forgiving on the starting price alone. Expect Zac Lloyd to press forward from gate 11, and with this track unlikely to get into the Heavy range like last start, Lady Olenna can bounce back at a good price.

Best Value

Race 3 – Lady Olenna Silks#2 Lady Olenna (11)

3yo Filly | T: Paul Messara & Leah Gavranich | J: Zac Lloyd (57kg)
