Leslie Khoo was a keen watcher at the Singapore Turf Club barrier trials on Tuesday, especially in the second heat where he had a new filly on show for the first time, Super Generous (NZ) (Showcasing).
Ridden by Zyrul Nor Azman, the Showcasing three-year-old displayed early toe to settle among the first three on a wide path, before striding on nicely to second place.
Khoo owns the filly formerly known as Amor Fati when she was then trained in New Zealand by Clint Isdale, with a sixth place in the 2020 Karaka Million (1200m) to her credit.
Khoo will line up another former Isdale charge in Beauty Diva (NZ) (Showcasing) on Saturday in the Class 4 Division 2 race over 1100m.
“Super Generous raced in New Zealand and ran sixth in the Karaka Million. Today was her first trial, and she showed plenty of gate speed,” said Khoo.
“I’ll find a race for her after the Chinese New Year. I own her for now, and I hope she lives up to her New Zealand form, better than Beauty Diva did.
“But I must also say she (Beauty Diva) had chips and had to go for surgery twice. That’s why she was away for so long (16 months), she will need more time.
“She ran okay at her two runs back. I can only hope she runs a better race this week.”
