The Danny Frawley Centre for Health and Wellbeing was presented with a $12,250 donation today courtesy of GRV’s annual Chase for Charity fundraiser.
GRV’s General Manager Marketing & Strategic Communication, Louise Martin was a guest on 1116 SEN’s Off The Bench radio show this morning to present the money to the late Danny Frawley’s daughter, Chelsea.
Danny was a cherished friend of greyhound racing, with his greyhound namesake Spud Regis (pictured above with Danny) taking out two Group 1 events – the Australian Cup and the Adelaide Cup before retiring to stud.
“Danny and other coaches helped out young people in trouble in the Justice system and he was amazing” – LOUISE MARTIN
Louise spoke fondly about her personal connection with the former AFL great and popular media personality, who devoted much of his life to creating awareness about mental health.
Each weekend during the 2021 AFL season, Off The Bench hosts Craig Hutchison (Ronald McDonald House) and Liam Pickering (McAuley House) placed $500 each on a greyhound, with all winnings being raised for their respective charities.
A weekly $500 bet was also placed on a greyhound on behalf of the Danny Frawley Centre.
