Racing will return to Eagle Farm this Saturday afternoon for the first time in seven weeks due to a dispute being resolved between jockeys and Queensland Racing about safety concerns at the track. The track was rated as a Soft 5 at the time of acceptances, but with more rain forecast for Thursday, there is a chance of a downgrade before the start of the meeting. The rail will be in its true position for the entire circuit, with racing scheduled to kick off at 11:58am AEST.

Kris Lees has quickly switched Cloudland from Sydney to Brisbane following his impressive first-up run when he finished second behind Willaidow over 1200m at Randwick. This son of Swiss Ace settled behind the speed and sprinted quickly to challenge the eventual winner but struggled late due to a lack of fitness. Andrew Mallyon will be legged aboard for his first ride on this gelding, and if he can settle in the first half of the field from barrier 10, Cloudland only needs to replicate his previous performance to win here.

Redford kicked off his career under Stuart Kendrick with an ultra-impressive victory at the Sunshine Coast, where he settled behind the speed and careered away with a three-length victory over 1300m. The son of Snitzel has yet to be beaten from three starts, and following his strong performance last start, he looks to be a horse on the rise that will have no problems dealing with the rise in grade. If Robbie Dolan can settle midfield and find cover from his wide barrier (19), Redford can win again.

Wanda Rox will return from a 27-week spell with the benefit of a 925m barrier trial in readiness for this fresh run. Hailing from the Lindsay Hatch stable, this five-year-old mare is undefeated first-up (3:3-0-0) and appears to have found another winnable race on resumption over 1000m. From barrier nine, Tahlia Fenlon can settle midfield, find a back to follow around the home turn, and allow Wanda Rox to finish off strongly down the middle of the track.
