The Queensland Cup and Members Cup will headline a massive 10-race card at Eagle Farm this Saturday afternoon, where the first race is set to kick off at 12:43pm AEST. The track was rated as a Heavy 9 at the time of acceptances; however, with no rain forecast for Friday and Saturday, expect an upgrade into the Soft range by raceday. The rail will be in the +4.5m position for the entire circuit.
Queensland Cup tip: Nikau Spur
Nikau Spur was one of the best closers in the Toowoomba Cup over 2000m last start as the Corey & Kylie Geran-trained gelding finished second behind Red Wave, beaten by a head on the line. With three solid runs under his belt this campaign, the son of Proisir appears ready to win fourth-up over 2400m in the Listed feature. From barrier one, James Orman will need an ounce of luck to get off the fence, and if they get it, Nikau Spur will prove hard to hold out.

Members Cup tip: Battlefield
Following his narrow victory at Toowoomba over 1200m previously, Battlefield will rise in grade and distance to compete in the Listed Members Cup. This son of Deep Field ran home strongly from the back of the field to nab Our Magnus on the winning post, claiming his fourth win in his last five runs. With the Barry Lockwood-trained gelding dropping down in the weights to 53kg and receiving an economical run from barrier one, Battlefield will get every chance to claim a black type victory.

Best Bet at Eagle Farm: Fleur Du Monde
Fleur Du Monde was an impressive winner at Doomben over 2000m two starts back before putting in an average performance at the Gold Coast on September 21. The Chris Waller-trained mare has been given three weeks between runs and will return to a track where she has only missed the placings once from five starts. With good speed expected, James Orman can settle Fleur Du Monde in the one-one position and stalk the speed throughout before finishing over the top of her rivals late.

Next Best at Eagle Farm: Tectonic Plate
Daniel Bowman has given Tectonic Plate a six-week freshen since her third-place finish at Doomben on August 31, which ended her three-win streak. This daughter of Supido settled at the back of a big field and worked home nicely down the outside; however, she couldn’t make up the ground on the winner and finished 1.1 lengths off Hold On Honey. Tectonic Plate strikes a weaker contest here, and with softer conditions expected to favour her, she can return to winning ways.

Best Value at Eagle Farm: Who Ordered Dafish
Who Ordered Dafish produced an encouraging first-up run at Doomben, where the Kevin Kemp-trained galloper ran home down the middle of the track to finish third over 1350m. Although this son of Headwater rises in class, stepping up to 1500m and striking a Soft track will suit him down to the ground. With the aid of Emily Lang’s 3kg claim, Who Ordered Dafish gets into the race with 53kg and looks an attractive each-way bet with horse racing bookmakers.
