Queensland horse racing will head to Doomben this Saturday afternoon, where the Brisbane Racing Club will host a very competitive nine-race program. The track was rated as a Soft 7 at the time of acceptances; however, with no rain on the forecast for the rest of the week, it is expected that the surface will improve before the start of the meeting. The rail will be in the +0.5m position for the entire circuit, with the first race scheduled to jump at 11:53am AEST.
Best Bet at Doomben: I See You Coming
I See You Coming returned for his second racing preparation under the care of Tony Gollan, and the five-year-old gelding was very unlucky when finishing second behind Atmosphere at Ipswich over 1100m. This son of Tycoon Ruler settled behind the speed first-up and was held up until the 200m mark before running home strongly to just miss in a photo finish. With even luck, this guy should have won that race, and if he gets a similar run off the rail here, I See You Coming can go one better.

Next Best at Doomben: Mr Galazi
Mr Galazi went within a whisker of keeping his undefeated second-up record (4:3-1-0) intact at the Sunshine Coast last start, but the David Murphy-trained galloper was overrun by Hakkai Maru in the final strides. After leading every step of the way over 1000m on a Heavy track, the son of Sir Prancealot was only beaten by a runner who revelled in the heavy conditions and they beat the rest of the field comfortably. From barrier two, Georgina Cartwright can find the front again and prove very hard to run down.

Best Value at Doomben: Tidal Creek
Stuart Kendrick and Jake Bayliss will combine with Tidal Creek for the second straight start after the five-year-old gelding returned from a 10-week freshen with a solid sixth-place finish over 1350m at Ipswich. The Sntizel gelding would have taken good fitness benefits out of his fresh run and will return to the Doomben 1600m (5:3-1-0), a track and distance that he enjoys racing at. With only one other speed influence engaged in this contest, Bayliss can push forward, settle outside the leader and give a good sight at big odds with online bookmakers.
Best Value
Race 8 – #5 Tidal Creek (6)
5yo Gelding | T: Stuart Kendrick | J: Jake Bayliss (60kg)
