Racing will return to Doomben this Saturday afternoon, where the first of nine races is set to kick off at 11:58am AEST. The track was rated as a Soft 5 at the time of acceptances; however, with no rain on the forecast for the rest of the week, the surface will improve into the Good range by raceday. The rail will be in the +1m position for the entire circuit.
Best Bet at Doomben: Daytona
Daytona recorded his second victory in six starts this preparation, when the Tony Gollan-trained gelding finished off strongly from the back of the field to win by half a length at this track and trip. The son of Sebring has finished in the placings three times at Doomben this time in and appears to enjoy racing at 1200m. Ryan Maloney has a very good record (6:2-1-1) on this guy, and from barrier four, Maloney can settle Daytona midfield off the fence and prove too strong once again.

Next Best at Doomben: Cloudland
Kris Lees has quickly switched Cloudland from Sydney to Brisbane following his impressive first-up run when he finished second behind Willaidow over 1200m at Randwick. This son of Swiss Ace settled behind the speed and sprinted quickly to challenge the eventual winner but struggled late due to a lack of fitness. Andrew Mallyon will be legged aboard for his first ride on this gelding, and if he can settle in the first four from barrier five, Cloudland only needs to replicate his previous performance to win here.

Best Value at Doomben: Tipsy Tiger
Tipsy Tiger will face her toughest test of her short career in the 3YO Open Handicap on Saturday; however, she may have a fitness edge on most of her rivals, which makes her a very good play at the double-figure odds on offer with horse racing bookmakers. The Tony Gollan-trained filly won impressively on debut at Ipswich before finishing second at Kilcoy over 1200m. Angela Jones won on this girl on debut, and now that she will reconnect with Tipsy Tiger with a light weight on her back, she gets a great chance to win again.
