Doomben Racecourse will play host to eight metropolitan races on Wednesday, June 22, and HorseBetting’s Queensland racing analyst has picked out his best bets and quaddie selections for the meeting. The track is rated a Soft 5, the rail is out 11.5m for the entire course, and the first rade is scheduled to jump at 12:33pm AEST.
Best Bet at Doomben – Cudyado
David Vandyke’s Cudyado was an ultra-impressive winner when first-up, leading throughout on the Sunshine Coast Polytrack to win by three lengths. The three-year-old son of Spirit Of Boom was scratched from a meeting at Doomben on June 8 due to a wide barrier, so connections should be thrilled with barrier four on Wednesday. With Ryan Maloney in the saddle from that soft alley, the gelding is likely to go forward and control the race, and it should take a pretty smart horse to run him down in the straight with the rail out as far as it is.

Next Best at Doomben – Badgers Nuts
We gave Badgers Nuts a winning chance at Ipswich on Saturday, but connections scratched the New Zealand three-year-old. The son of Rageese was a good winner at this track and distance in maiden company on June 8, leading all throughout to win by a narrow margin. While it was only two-tenths of a length, there was a big space of four lengths back to the third horse, implying that Badgers Nuts had a fair bit of class on his rivals. He now goes to a Class 1, Samantha Collett retains the ride and barrier two should allow the horse to lead and dictate terms from the front. This is a nice race for the horse to convert consecutive victories.

Best Value at Doomben – Bold Warrior
Gary Doughty and Tegan Harrison combine in the fourth race of the day with last-start runner-up Bold Warrior. The six-year-old son of Spirit Of Boom was terrific when second to the classy Morethannumberone at the Sunshine Coast on June 12, sitting up on the speed to only get collared in late by the eventual winner. From barrier three, Harrison can send this galloper forward, race him on the speed and hopefully pinch a cheap sectional down the side. This is the galloper’s first go at the mile, but without too much speed in the race, he should get it all his own way.

Race 4 – #2 Bold Warrior (3)
6yo Gelding | T: Gary Doughty | J: Tegan Harrison (58.5kg)
