Another week of racing in Victoria kicks off with an eight-race program at Donald Racecourse on Monday afternoon. With plenty of rain throughout Victoria, the track has come up a Heavy 10 at the time of acceptances and we expect that rating to hold true throughout the card. The rail sticks in the true position, with racing set to commence at 1pm AEST.
Best Bet at Donald: Turf Two
Turf Two has resumed with two thirds this campaign, but on Monday we expect the filly to break her maiden at career start four. The 1350m third-up into her campaign looks ideal with everything she has done so far in her career suggesting she will only improve as she gets out further in trip. The Turffontein has the least amount of convictions in a field like this and clearly has the most upside. If Harry Coffey can have her in the moving line with cover from barrier 11, her turn of foot is better than her rivals and Turf Two should prove too strong late.
Best Bet
Race 3 – #11 Turf Two (11)
3yo Filly | T: Patrick Payne | J: Harry Coffey (57.5kg)

Next Best Bet at Donald: Lonhstretto
Daniel Bowman’s Lonhstretto has put the writing on the wall at her first two starts and gets her chance to break her maiden at start three. She will look to make the most out of the fresh ground in the opener when wanting to lead the field up and if Melissa Julius can find the rail from barrier nine, she should gain an uncontested lead throughout. With a cheap sectional or two over the 1200m, it is hard to see how Lonhstretto gets run down in the opener and we are getting a nice price about the Dissident filly too.
Next Best
Race 1 – #11 Lonhstretto (9)
3yo Filly | T: Daniel Bowman | J: Melissa Julius (56kg)

Best Value at Donald: Artrese
The Andrew Bobbin-trained Artrese was a smart BM58 winner two starts back at Geelong and following a tough run in a much harder race at Sandown last time out, looks a great value play in the last. The three-year-old gelding ran into some nice horses last start, but his effort to score first-up over 1300m at Geelong on May 19 suggests he is right in a race like this. Jaylah Kennedy claiming 3kg gets the Rageese gelding in with 60.5kg on his back and considering by this time in the card they will be wanting to come out wide, the wide barrier is no big disadvantage.
Best Value
Race 8 – #1 Artrese (18)
3yo Gelding | T: Andrew Bobbin | J: Jaylah Kennedy (63.5kg)
