In-form jockey Michael Dee has been confirmed as the rider for classy New Zealand mare Levante (NZ) (Proisir) who will contest the Gr.1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on March 12.
The Ken and Bev Kelso-trained daughter of Proisir was an impressive last-start winner of the Gr.1 BCD Sprint (1400m), having previously won the Gr.1 Telegraph (1200m).
Levante will fly to Melbourne next Wednesday to undertake a hit and run mission on the time-honoured handicap with a view to returning in the spring.
