Daniel’s ‘double delight’

Avalon’s Daniel Gibbons will launch a two-pronged challenge in the $10,000 to-the-winner Victorian Straight Track Championship final (350m) on Sunday.

Gibbons snared two of the three heats, within 15 minutes yesterday, including the fastest heat winner.

Quinlan Bale ($2.30F) set the time standard with a runaway 6.3L victory in 19.34sec (Best), while litter brother Nicolson Bale ($2.70F) clocked a 2.6L win in 19.62sec.

Both Jun ’20 Feral Franky x Ethla Allen siblings have similar form lines.

Quinlan Bale, a dual G3 finalist, notched his 10th win from 23 starts and Nicolson Bale, a G3 Warragul St Leger finalist less than 48 hours earlier, registered his 11th win from 23 starts.

They have drawn box four and box two respectively in the final.

The remaining heat winner was Fascinate Aussie ($8.70) – prepared at Creswick by Stefano Cassar – which caused an upset in semaphoring 19.55sec. Zigzag Cabang ($1.30F) finished fourth, albeit only 1.9L from the winner.

Fascinate Aussie will exit from box six in the final.
