Is undefeated youngster Paua Of Janie the real deal or a ‘flash’ in the pan?
That question could go a long way towards being answered tonight at Warragul when Steve White’s exciting NSW import Paua Of Janie (6 from 6) makes her second Victorian appearance, facing G3 winner Blackpool Flash (24 from 46 – 6 of past 10).
White and his ‘Paua’ team will feature in another standout Warragul clash, with Paua Of Buddy (4 from 6 – 3 from 3 Trk/Dst), Paua Of Janie’s brother, tackling Aston Gigante (3 from 4), a brother to stars Aston Rupee and Aston Fastnet.
There’s also enormous quality on display at Horsham, headlined by G2 Geelong Cup winner and G1 National Derby finalist Weblec Jet (11 from 33).
G1 Hobart Thousand finalist Run And Carry (15 from 29 – 2 from 2 Box 6) looks set to enhance his imposing resume at his Horsham debut, while Man Absconded (22 from 62) is another prolific winner sure to take some stopping.
Superbly-bred prospect Wing Chun Girl (2 from 3), a half-sister to G1 Melbourne Cup hero Hard Style Rico, is poised to continue the bright start to her career, while Betatron (8 from 21 – 7 from 12 Trk/Dst) will take on evergreen centurion Kraken Tex (20 from 103), winner of his last 4 in a row.
Meanwhile, at Healesville, in-form speedster Coolant (10 from 18 – 5 of past 7) is striving to continue his excellent recent straight track form for veteran mentor Jimmy Redenbach.

PAUA OF BUDDY ASTON GIGANTE
Warragul Race 6 460m 8:25pm
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666541483/race/6
The Watchdog says : PAUA OF BUDDY (2) is one of the most exciting speedsters in the country and he set Ballarat alight last week with a blistering 24.93sec win. He is three from three this track/distance and he has blown up the clock on each occasion. With an empty draw on his inside, he essentially has the red draw now and that should give him every chance to pounce on the early lead and a sub 25.50sec run could be on the cards. Fingers crossed we can see him in town soon enough. ASTON GIGANTE (6) is another exciting prospect. He has won three from four and he elevated himself to another level with a breathtaking 23.68sec Bendigo win last start. He runs into a jetliner tonight, so he may have to settle for second spot, however he should still carve out time and round out the quinella. LEEKY LEE (7) and WILL DO (3) are both capable types and one of them should sneak into third spot.

PATRICIA MAUREEN (5) is a near faultless beginner, and she looks suitably graded today. YOUR EMBRACE (1) is a serious prospect and there should be no excuses from the inside draw.

: 1,3,6,7
The Watchdog says : BLACKPOOL FLASH (7) is one of the best provincial speedsters in the game and he can burn off PAUA OF JANIE (3) at the first bend. PAUA OF BUDDY (2) is a jetliner and should be leading throughout. PAY THE PRINCE (1) and LAVISH DIAMOND (7) should dominate the third leg. INVICTUS JAXSON (3) is a serious prospect, but he is under the odds in the last leg, so we have gone wide in the hope of securing some value.
