Budding superstar Koblenz will headline Wednesday’s action when he heads to The Meadows, chasing an incredible 11th straight victory.
Koblenz (15 from 21 and 3 from 3 Trk/Dst – 29.78sec PB) has been airborne of late and the G1 Maturity looms large later this month for the blueblood.
Gippsland star Massimo (11 from 26) will be having his first start at The Meadows; and watch for an enticing clash between Invictus Rising (4 from 4 Box 1 – 29.86sec PB), 22-month-old Paddy Wants Pats (3 from 4 Trk/Dst – 29.91sec PB) and G1 Sapphire Crown finalist Persian Goddess (9 from 22).
In the evening at Cranbourne, Ever Lovin’ Man (6 from 12), a brother to Persian Goddess, has hit form after a break and is chasing his fourth straight win.
Meanwhile at Ballarat, prolific speedster Rilynn Bale (31 from 62 and 4 from 4 over 390m) will give Quintana Bale (4 from 5 Trk/Dst) something to catch over 450m; and a great battle looms between Nihari Bale (29.23sec Sandown PB) v Boom Out (4 from 5) v Man Absconded (22 from 59).

MUST-WATCH RACE: Themeadows.org.au mixed 4/5
KOBLENZ The Clock
The Meadows Race 7 525m 1:08pm
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666541436/race/7
The Watchdog says : KOBLENZ (3) is arguably the hottest property in the sport at the moment and, with 14 wins in his past 16 starts, he is expected to take a power of beating again. He is near faultless at box rise, which is highlighted by the fact that he has not been headed in his past eight starts and, with another clean getaway, he should be able to pounce on the lead and I think he can press the 29.60sec mark. That sort of performance will have him primed for the upcoming Group 1 Maturity Classic series at The Meadows. KINSON BALE (8) is a highly promising type, and he has raced well here to date, so if he can step on terms he should be able to settle in the top two or three early and fill the quinella spot. KNICKS BALE (2) is never too far away in this class and will be charging to the line, so she can take home some of the minor money.
Selections: 3 – 8 – 2 – 6

: 1,8
: 3
: 2,6
The Watchdog says : The staying event appears to be quite open, so hopefully we can land some value there. MASSIMO (1) and DARK COMPASS (8) should control the second leg, whilst KOBLENZ (3) should just be winning. CARLA VELOSO (2) and ZACHARY (6) should control the final leg throughout.
$3 Place – MY FATHER’S SON
The Meadows Race 5 Box 3 725m 12:22pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.80 Place (top two finish required)
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666541436/race/5
The Watchdog says : MY FATHER’S SON (3) can run all day and he should get a nice sit just off the pace for most of the journey. There are a few runners who are a little suspect late, so he should be able to pick them off and a top two finish looks likely.

The Watchdog says : GYPSY TOOWOOMBA (1) has been impressive to date and is she is drawn to get all the breaks. MAN ABSCONDED (8) is perfectly drawn out wide and he can light them up in the middle stages. YEAH EASY (2) will scrape the paint throughout and he will be strong in the run to the line. GREAT SCOUT (6) is jet propelled and with an ounce of luck early, he should get the cash.
