The Watchdog says : RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR (2) turned in a great performance when placed here last Thursday night and he exits the same draw tonight. DO IT (1) should probably hold the lead, so RUFUS SCRIMGEOUR will get a nice run through, and a top-three finish looks likely. JUNGLE PANTHER (3) will need an ounce of luck early, but he has been enormous of late, and he should be able to drive through into a prominent spot as they head through the bend. ROMINA BALE (1) is ultra-consistent and with a clear run early, she should be able to run home into some minor money.

Sandown Park Race 5 Box 7 515m 7:34pm
TAB fixed odds: $2.30 Win

The Watchdog says : SCOFFLAW (7) continues to go to another level with every run and with the vacant draw on his outside, he should get every chance to balance up and take over as they head into the bend. He went 29.39sec last Thursday night and with a clear run tonight, I think he can push the 29.30sec barrier.

The Watchdog says : MY FATHER’S SON (8) can run all day and he is never too far away in this class. There are some runners in this event who are suspect late and I’m expecting there to be some bunching up front. If he can drop in for a nice sit early, he should be able to pick a few off late and run into the placings.

Great 8 Event
Sandown Park Race 8
595m 8:40pm
The Watchdog says : Two-time Group 1 winner JARICK BALE (2) looks perfectly placed to get the cash; however, dual Group 1 placegetter MEPUNGA WARRIOR (4) is all class and capable of pushing him throughout. Hopefully, we can get some value into second spot, which includes McCOOLY’S LAD (1); placed twice at Group level.
‘Must Watch Race’ Preview :
Superstar JARICK BALE (2) returns to his favourite stomping ground after a luckless run in the final of The 715 at The Gardens, and he looks poised to make amends. McCOOLY’S LAD (1) is expected to come out running, but JARICK BALE should be able to rail up behind him and assume control as they head to the back straight. MEPUNGA WARRIOR (4) has been a tremendous chaser for some time now and he has turned in some brilliant performances since resuming. The draw isn’t great tonight, but a clean getaway can see him settle in the top four and he will be strong in the run home. ASTON ULYSSES (8) continues to produce the goods and he was dominant here last Thursday night; however, he may have to work hard to cross in the initial stages.
