Recent G3 Great Chase runner-up Hamillson (7 from 13) is quickly becoming one of the most promising youngsters in Victoria and The Watchdog expects him to register his fifth win in his last six starts in a Grade 5 520m heat at Cranbourne tonight.
G3 placegetter Sovereign Wind and People Get Ready (3 from 5 Box 8) are considered the biggest dangers to thwarting Hamillson.
The other Grade 5 520m heat features Miss Tickle and Invictus Jaxson, while Aston Sunset v Midnight Snooze v Enchanting clash in the Grade 5 Damsels Dash (520m).
Moon Sister v Majestic Mojo v Aston Solar v Moody Girl (17.42sec PB) v Dr. Lynch and Tango Icon v It’s A Drama (17.51sec PB) v Dashing Dante v Don’t Start Now are highly competitive races.
Miss Martina v Aston Dynasty should be a terrific duel, while Starlight Pluto and Apache Runner (4 of last 5) should boost their respective strike rates.
At Sandown Park, Nikephoros (2 of last 4 – 3 from 5 Box 1) v Venus Light (4 of last 6) v Grace’s Spirit battle in the Grade 5 715m race, while G3 finalist Weblec Ranger and G1 finalist Arizona Eyes (won last 2) feature in the Mixed 4/5 515m event.
Kennelmates Call Me Chloe and Call Me Buster headline the Grade 5 595m race, while George’s Fancy and King Of Glory (2 of last 3) should both prevail.
Dr. Slats (6 from 11 – 4 from 7 Trk/Dst) is the standout chaser at Sale, while Inuka and Aston Bel Air are both predicted to triumph according to The Watchdog.

MUST-WATCH RACE: Backmans Pet Foods Heat 2
HAMILLSON SOVEREIGN WIND PEOPLE GET READY
Cranbourne Race 8 520m 9:08pm
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539241/race/8
The Watchdog says : HAMILLSON (3) has always shown tremendous promise, but he announced himself as a potential star when finishing second in the recent Group 3 Great Chase final. He followed that run with a brilliant 25.85sec Warragul win and with a clean getaway tonight, he is expected to lead throughout again. With a clear passage he should have no trouble busting the 30-second barrier. SOVEREIGN WIND (7) was placed in last year’s Group 3 Great Chase final, and he has had a strong career since. However, he hasn’t experienced a lot of luck in recent months, and he will be looking to regain some confidence tonight. Outside of the favourite, there is very limited early pace engaged, so with a clean getaway, he should be able to settle in the top two and he is very powerful when in the clear. I think the favourite may have a little too much zip for him, but he definitely won’t be too far away as they reach the business end. PEOPLE GET READY (8) rounds out the serious chances. He has some breathtaking wins to his credit, however he can find a lot of trouble in his races. With limited early pace, there is every chance he will be three and four wide as they work into the bend, and he may have to settle for some minor money.
Selections: 3 – 7 – 8 – 1

$3.50 Win – INUKA
Sale Race 6 Box 8 440m 5:02pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.60 Win
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539244/race/6
The Watchdog says : INUKA (8) has always done his best racing here and he will appreciate the drop in class today. From the good draw, he should get plenty of room to balance up and he’ll be able to burn them off as they head through the bend. If he can find the top, he has proven in the past that he is very hard to get past and he’s a nice price today.

Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539244/race/12
The Watchdog says : DR. SLATS (1) is a star prospect, and he is drawn to make every post a winner. GEORGE’S FANCY (2) is still learning what it’s all about, but she has a serious motor, and she will appreciate the smaller line-up today. ASTON BEL AIR (1) is another who is suited by the small line-up, she will light them up in the middle stages and a top-two finish is likely.
Multi price: $3.15
$2 Place – DINKYDI ASSET
Cranbourne Race 8 Box 1 520m 9:08pm Must Watch Race
TAB fixed odds: $2.50 Place
Form https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/666539241/race/8
The Watchdog says : He runs into a couple of handy ones but from the good draw, he should be able to settle in the top three and is quite strong in the run home. So, if he can avoid bother, he should be able to hit the scoreboard.
