Shepparton 450m track record holder Mr. Audacious and fellow promising chasers On The Bit, Jungle Panther and Rufiano should produce a terrific contest in tonight’s $10,000 to-the-winner Castle of Mey Final at Traralgon.
G2 Launceston Cup winner Hill Top Jack and the consistent Brother Bearing duel in a Mixed 4/5 500m race as well.
Group finalists Fearless Rory, Storm Stroller and Jerwood Bale clash in a Grade 5 460m final at Geelong this evening, while Struck Gold and G2 finalist Astro Boy are also in action.
This afternoon at Bendigo, Body Hack stands out in a 425m Free For All, Group placegetters Red Reactor and Aston Merit face each other, and G3 placegetter Hushing Dusk v Bella Beauty v G3 winner Love The City is intriguing.

The Watchdog says : DRY LIGHTNING (7) was ultra-impressive at The Meadows two runs back and she is ideally drawn out wide today. NICOLSON BALE (3) continues to impress, and he is armed with blistering mid-race pace. With the inside two runners expected to be prominent early, he should get a dream run through behind them. GUNAI OUTLAW (1) would prefer a wider draw, but he explodes soon after box rise, and he will be suited by the smaller line-up.

The Watchdog says : RENEGADE RUSLIE (3) is a very strong chaser, and he should get a nice run through behind the favourite and a top-three finish looks likely. SIMBA’S GIRL (1) showed loads of potential last prep and she is expected to fire fresh. ZIPPING BONANZA (1) continues to get better with every run and is drawn to lead throughout tonight.

$3 Win – MR. AUDACIOUS
Must Watch Race
Castle of Mey Final (Mixed Grade 4/5)
Traralgon Race 6
Box 6 450m 8:49pm
TAB fixed odds: $2 Win
The Watchdog says : Shepparton 450m track record holder MR. AUDACIOUS (6) was enormous last start and with an ounce of luck early, he should be able to assume control quickly and charge away in the middle stages. MR. AUDACIOUS will be aiming to secure his ninth victory from 11 starts.
‘Must Watch Race’ Preview :
MR. AUDACIOUS (6) will be looking to make it a brilliant seven-of-seven at this track. He is one of the most exciting chasers we have seen, and he turned in a massive performance to win his heat last start. His box manners aren’t great, but he is armed with an exhilarating turn of foot and with a slow beginner on his outside, he should get every chance to put himself into contention. JUNGLE PANTHER (2) is another exciting prospect, and he has carved out some scorching wins of late. He recorded back-to-back sub-27 second wins at Horsham and then followed that up with a blistering 25.52sec Warragul win. ON THE BIT (1) has a massive motor and he has won here previously in a sizzling 24.80sec. RUFIANO (8) has been enormous since resuming, winning three-of-three and all of them in slashing times.
