Godolphin has a strong hand in the two three-year-old features at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, with Golden Mile and Spacewalk looking to book their spots in next month’s Golden Rose (1400m).
In the Group 3 Up & Coming Stakes (1300m), trainer James Cummings is set to test the unbeaten Golden Mile, with the son of Astern looking to convert his Ballarat maiden victory into stakes success.
The colt has had two eye-catching trials in Sydney, finishing third in both under lock and key, so Cummings is interested to see how he goes.

“It will be interesting to see how he comes back,” the trainer said.
“He had a hard run to get up and win that (Ballarat) race.
“Golden Mile has grown and matured nicely since his return, but 1,300m is an interesting test for him first-up.
“He will potentially be one to look for, but we are feeling our way with him at the moment.
“The feedback from the team is extremely positive and we can always drop him back, but I don’t mind a horse who might be on the way up in this Up And Coming (Stakes).”

The Group 3 San Domenico Stakes has attracted a high-quality field, including the James Cummings-trained Spacewalk.
After throwing the race away first-up in the Listed Rosebud, Spacewalk will be looking to atone for his bad luck, but Cummings concedes that this is a tougher task.
“We feel he’s tightened nicely from that first-up run,” Cummings said.
“The run was excellent without winning, but now he’s coming up against even stronger opposition.
“I think the horse is going to need to have gone ahead, but he’s flying, so it’s going to be an interesting test for the horse.”
