The Cranbourne Turf Club is set to host a bumper nine-race program on Thursday afternoon. With a favourable forecast in the lead-up, we expect to be racing on a Good 4 all day, with the rail coming out 9m the entire circuit. The action from Cranbourne commences at 1pm AEST.
Best Bet at Cranbourne: Waimarie
Despite being well beaten at Sandown first-up in what looks to be a nice form race going forward, Waimarie looks set to strike second-up from a spell. The three-year-old filly had a few excuses in the run home on September 6, but her form in her juvenile campaign suggests she is right in this. Already placed at stakes level behind the smart I Am Unstoppable, Waimarie looks to be above Class 1 company and should prove a touch too good for this lot.

Next Best at Cranbourne: Balinor
It was a tough watch for those who followed Balinor at the Cranbourne 2080m on September 7, when he was horribly held up for a run until it was too late. The three-year-old gelding returns to the track and trip on Thursday and looks incredibly hard to go past. He draws barrier six with Jamie Mott sticking on board, and if the pair can lob in the moving line with cover, Balinor should avoid any traffic when it matters most and break maiden ranks at start six.

Best Value at Cranbourne: Our Goddess
The Clinton McDonald-trained Our Goddess looked in need of the run first-up on the Pakenham synthetic on August 24. Having tired after leading the field up on that day, the five-year-old mare weakened to be beaten by two lengths. On a day where it may be advantageous to be up on speed, look for Celine Gaudray to roll forward from barrier five and take up the running. With natural improvement and a well-rated steer, Our Goddess should prove hard to run down in the opening leg of the quaddie.
Best Value
Race 6 – #9 Our Goddess (5)
5yo Mare | T: Clinton McDonald | J: Celine Gaudray (a1.5) (58kg)
