Cranbourne Turf Club is set to host the second-to-last Friday night meeting of the racing season, with eight races to be run and won. HorseBetting’s Victorian form expert has gone through the card and found a couple of best bets, as well as free quaddie selections for the night. The track is rated a Soft 6, with the rail in the true position from the 1600m-1000m and then out 3m for the remainder. The first race is set to get underway at 5:45pm AEST.
Best Bet at Cranbourne: Foxicon
Having been listed to resume at Moe earlier in the week, the Peter Moody-trained Foxicon was scratched and saved for another day, that being Friday night at Cranbourne. The Foxwedge filly showed plenty of heart on debut when leading throughout at Bairnsdale during her initial campaign, before going on to be a hard-luck story at Caulfield behind Jezoulenko and Butter Blonde in tougher company than this. Despite jumping from barrier 12, the bay filly has the early speed to overcome the tricky draw; look for Luke Nolen to have her lead the field up – or, at worst, sit outside the leader. Foxicon looks to be a nice filly to follow throughout the winter, and whatever price you can get with online bookmakers, we suggest you take it.

Next Best at Cranbourne: Fazzabeel
Gavin Bedggood and Michael Dee will combine with three-year-old gelding Fazzabeel, who has been knocking down the door in recent times in pursuit of his maiden victory. Two starts back at the Cranbourne 1400m he finished fourth, beaten a half-length having run on strongly from the rear of the field. He then followed it up with a similar effort when finishing second, beaten a nostril at Sale on May 10. He returns to the Cranbourne mile, and despite being a genuine backmarker, the small field of eight should see him be within striking distance throughout. If he can get a genuinely run 1600m from the leaders, his turn of foot is the best in the race. He looks to be a great bank-builder for your online betting sites accounts.

Best Value at Cranbourne: Tinandali
The Robert Sangster Stakes winning combination of Ciaron Maher & David Eustace and jockey Ethan Brown will be looking to get Tinandali back into the winner’s circle. The Oasis Dream gelding was simply outclassed at Caulfield on April 23 when chasing home the likes of Tokorangi, Vasmee and Beltoro. Two starts back at Bendigo on April 2, he was beaten just over 1.5 lengths by Lina’s Legend and Vitruvius, which is form that stacks up nicely in this. We anticipate Brown will have the six-year-old settled midfield with cover, and if he can gain a nice tow into the race, we expect Tinandali will finish right over the top of his rivals.
