Best Bet at Cranbourne: Get Up Girl
Get Up Girl will be returning for her second racing preparation this Sunday, where she will compete in a Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1000m. This Clinton McDonald-trained mare finished her first campaign with solid results in the Listed Amanda Elliot at Flemington and Listed Twilight Glow at Caulfield. In her latest trial over 800m at Cranbourne, the daughter of No Nay Never was impressive through the line. With a lot of speed expected in this race, look for Get Up Girl to settle at the rear of the field and storm home down the outside.

Next Best at Cranbourne: Aperitivo
The Ben, Will & JD Hayes-trained Aperitivo returned to the racetrack on August 2 with a very nice run to finish second behind Seafield Road at Sale over 1423m. The four-year-old mare will have taken some benefit from that run and should be ready to win second-up over a similar distance in the same grade. This daughter of Tivaci settled midfield last start and was slightly inconvenienced at the top of the home straight before getting out into clear air at the 200m mark to chase the eventual winner. After drawing barrier two, we expect Daniel Stackhouse to settle closer to the speed before releasing the brakes at the 300m mark.

Best Value at Cranbourne: Our Goddess
Returning from a four-month spell, this five-year-old mare has been given a jump-out and trial to get ready for this fresh run. Her last trial over 800m at Cranbourne indicated that she is going well, as she went to the line hard-held and finished second. This daughter of Shalaa hasn’t finished outside the top two in two first-up starts (2:1-1-0), so expect her to be ready to go on Sunday. Ben Melham will have to navigate a path from barrier 18, but if he can push forward and settle in the one-one, Our Goddess will give us a great sight at $19 with most online bookmakers.
