Cranbourne Turf Club is the destination for Friday night racing in Victoria this week. With the track rated a Good 4 and the rail is out 7m for the entire circuit, HorseBetting’s Victorian form analyst is confident in finding a few winners among the markets at Australia’s best online bookmakers. The first of nine races is scheduled to go at 5:15pm AEST.
Best Bet at Cranbourne – Ampere
The Mick Kent-trained Ampere chased home the smart Funzelle on debut at Pakenham on April 7, and with the step up to 1400m from the 1200m, she looks a clear best bet on what looks to be a tricky card. The Shocking mare gained a perfect run in transit and, despite being no match for the eventual winner, put over four lengths on the third-placed horse. From barrier five under Ethan Brown, the bay mare looks set to gain a run in the one-one, and if she is lucky enough to do just that, Ampere should bring up a maiden win here at start two.

Next Best at Cranbourne – Marchons Ensemble
The Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young-trained Marchons Ensemble has always been touted as a stayer with above-average ability, and we think he can break a winless drought that stretches over 18 months. The five-year-old gelding hit the line with great intent over 1600m when chasing home Sir Davy at Sandown on April 6 and looked to be screaming out for further, which he gets here on Friday night. Despite drawing the widest barrier of seven, he will go back in the small field and be the one who will have the last look at them late. His turn of foot when at his best is too good for this lot.

Best Value at Cranbourne – Barney’s Blaze
The Frankie Stockdale-trained Barney’s Blaze is yet to finish outside of the top four in five runs this campaign, and we’re hoping that record continues here at Cranbourne. The four-year-old gelding has won just once in that time and is coming off a narrow defeat to Red Hot Nicc. From barrier one, he will gain the suck run in transit on the leader’s back, and with even luck in the home straight, he looks to be the one they will need to gun down inside the final 100m. Take whatever price you can get with online betting sites, as this race looks perfect for Barney’s Blaze.
