It’s a wide-open edition of the Group 3 Crave Plate (1800m) this Saturday at Randwick, with a competitive field of 10 set to line up.
Online bookmakers have left it up to the punters to decide favouritism for the $750,000 feature, but it’s currently the Chris Waller-trained Hinged that holds the call at +300 with top betting sites.
Stablemate No Compromise chased alongside Hinged in the Group 2 Hill Stakes (1900m) last start, and it seems that’s where the market is gravitating early, as the seven-year-old firms from +500 into +340.
Renaissance Woman pounced on her rivals in the Group 3 Angst Stakes (1600m) a fortnight ago and has plenty of admirers at +450.
Numerian (+650), Zeyrek (+800) and Fireburn (+850) were far from disgraced in the Hill Stakes and will undoubtedly improve heading deeper into their respective campaigns.
Sibaaq (+850) returns to Sydney after a trip down to Melbourne and brings some different form to the race, while Huetor (+1100) ran last in the Group 1 King Charles III Stakes (1600m) last start but still brings the elite form into this.
The 2023 Craven Plate is the sixth race scheduled at Randwick this Saturday and is set to be run and won at 3:25pm AEDT.
