In the buildup to the Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m), another contender making strides is Benedetta from the stables of Jason Warren.
After securing fourth-place finishes in both the prestigious Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m) and the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m), the daughter of Hellbent returned to her winning form, clinching victory in the R N Irwin Stakes at Morphettville.
“We’ve freshened her up, we went back to the jump-outs … just needed a nice run without knocking her around,” Warren told Racing.com.
“She’ll stay here and have a nice two weeks and prepare for the Sangster.
“I didn’t want to see her have a tough run.
“Hopefully she continues to improve.”
