What Bendigo races
Where Bendigo Jockey Club – Heinz St, White Hills VIC 3550
When Wednesday, November 13, 2024
First Race 1pm AEDT

Bendigo Jockey Club will host nine races this Wednesday afternoon, with the first set to jump at 1pm AEDT. Although there is rain forecast for Tuesday, warm weather on Wednesday will ensure the track remains at the initial Good 4 rating. The rail will be in the +4m position for the entire circuit.

Best Bet at Bendigo: Dancing Dolly

Dancing Dolly has finished in the placings in all three of her races to date, with her last-start second being her best performance. The Archie Alexander-trained filly was made to travel three wide and raced ungenerously for most of the 1400m journey before battling on gamely in the concluding stages. This daughter of Ace High gapped the rest of the field, and given the wide run, the rise to 1500m second-up will be no problem from the ace draw.

Next Best at Bendigo: Hello Romeo

Ben, Will & JD Hayes have three runners engaged in the opening contest, and their best hope looks to be Hello Romeo. On debut at this track and trip, the son of Hello Youmzain settled outside the leader before taking over at the top of the straight and was only overtaken late by Leave No Doubt. With racing experience in his favour against most of his rivals, Hello Romeo can settle in a similar position from barrier two and go one better.

Best Value at Bendigo: Private Jumbo

Private Jumbo has returned to form in his last two starts, running fourth and third at Caulfield and Sale, respectively. The Michael Huglin-trained galloper settled on a hot speed at Sale over 1400m last start, and even though he was beaten by 1.6 lengths, the son of Reward For Effort was still strong through the line. With Logan Bates taking 3kg off his back, Private Jumbo will push forward to lead and should prove hard to run down late.

Best Value

Race 7 – Private Jumbo #1 Private Jumbo (5)

5yo Gelding | T: Michael Huglin | J: Logan Bates (a3) (61.5kg)
