The annual Kyneton Cup Day meeting will be held at the Bendigo Jockey Club this year, after it was transferred due to the state of the Kyneton track. The massive nine-race card is highlighted by the $125,000 Kyneton Cup. The track is currently rated a Heavy 8 and the rail will be in the true position for the entire circuit, while racing gets underway at 12:30pm AEDT.
Kyneton Cup Tip: Rousseau
In the feature race of the day, the $125,000 Kyneton Cup, the Chris Waller-trained Rousseau looks very hard to beat as he rises in distance up to 2200m and gets in just above the 54kg minimum. This five-year-old gelding has been gradually getting better after every run as he increases in distance this preparation and now that he hits the 2200m of the Kyneton Cup, Waller and his team should have this guy ready to win in a very winnable race. Brett Prebble doesn’t have many options from barrier seven in a seven-horse field, so we expect him to cross the field with this guy and lead or sit on pace. If this son of So You Think can find his way to the front without doing much work, he should be very hard to run down as they turn into the straight.

Best Bet at Bendigo: Full Blown
The second race of the day represents a good chance for the Michael Moroney-trained Full Blown to break his maiden at start number four. In this race there is only four other horses with race experience with the other five horses being on debut. This three-year-old colt raced five-wide for the majority of the 1000m race at his last start at Cranbourne where he battled on tenaciously to finish second, two lengths behind the favourite in the race. This son of Written Tycoon comes out of some very good form races at his first two starts. From barrier five over 1100m on Wednesday, this guy should be able to find the front and if he gets into a good rhythm, he will be extremely hard to beat.

Best Value at Bendigo: Vitruvius
In the final race of the day, Nick Ryan and Brett Prebble will combine with Vitruvius in the Benchmark 70 Handicap over 1400m. This five-year-old gelding has only had one run with Nick Ryan after he was transferred from Paul Preusker before his first start this preparation at Horsham on October 16. First-up this guy didn’t jump very well and Brett Prebble had to really push him to hold his place in the first half of the field, which then left him wanting in the final stages of the race after making a four-wide move on the turn. Brett Prebble will take the ride again on Wednesday and if this son of Star Witness jumps with them, he should be able to hold a more prominent position and come off the leaders back in the straight to stake his claim.
