Belmont will host a competitive nine-race card this Saturday afternoon, with racing set to kick off at 12:19pm AWST. Although the track was rated as a Soft 5 at the time of acceptances, it is expected that the surface will improve into the Good range by raceday. The rail will be pushed out to the +9m position for the entire circuit, which should allow the track to play favourably to on-speed runners.
Best Bet at Belmont: Bondi Plunge
Bondi Plunge put a run of placings behind her with a dominant victory at this track and trip first-up on August 28, when the Daniel Morton-trained mare ran away from her rivals to win by 1.7 lengths. This daughter of Bondi may have only won two races to date, but she has finished in the placings in 10 of her other 12 starts, indicating that she has been well placed. Chris Parnham was aboard for the fresh victory, and with him retaining the ride in a similar grade, Bondi Plunge will get every chance to win again.

Next Best at Belmont: All Grunt
All Grunt couldn’t have been more impressive when he thrashed his rivals on debut to break his maiden at Northam over 1100m on August 29. The Tiarnna Noske-trained gelding settled midfield and worked his way out to the middle of the track before letting down with a blistering turn of foot to claim a massive 4.7-length victory. With a strong tempo expected to be set at the front of the field, All Grunt can repeat the dose with a similar performance.

Best Value at Belmont: Watch Me Rock
Seeking a hat-trick of wins, Watch Me Rock will return to Belmont over a slightly shorter trip after he just held on to record a narrow victory over Uncle Gerard. The son of Awesome Rock settled outside the leader before he was asked for the ultimate effort with 250m to go and just held on, thanks to a strong William Pike ride. Pike has chosen to stick with the Grant & Alana Williams-trained gelding, and if he can settle on-speed and give a good kick late, Watch Me Rock will go very close again.
Best Value
Race 7 – #5 Watch Me Rock (9)
3yo Filly | T: Grant & Alana Williams | J: William Pike (54kg)
