Belmont is set to host its weekly nine-race card on Saturday and Horsebetting.com.au’s Western Australian tipster presents his best bets, free quaddie numbers and odds from Australia’s leading online bookmakers. The track is rated a Good 4, with the rail out 9m the entire circuit, for the meeting commencing at 10:34am AWST (12:34pm AEST)..

Belmont Best Bet: Laverrod

The Listed Black Heart Bart Stakes is the feature event on the Belmont card and we expect the Sean and Jake Casey-trained Laverrod to prove too good for this Stakes field. Having competed in tougher races than this in Melbourne during the autumn, we expect the five-year-old son of Toronado to appreciate getting back to Perth. He has had three trials in the lead up to this first up run and looks to have come back in fine form. William Pike has two wins from as many rides aboard Laverrod and considering he hardly knows how to run a bad race, Laverrod looks a clear best bet on the program and should be too hard to hold out with a barnstorming run from the rear of the field.

Next Best at Belmont: Come Magic

In the opening leg of the quaddie, the Dion Luciani-trained will be looking to make it consecutive wins for the first time in her career having broken her maiden last time out over the Belmont 1000m. The four-year-old He’s A Decoy mare steps up to 1200m here and considering she will look to roll forward and dictate terms, she may prove hard to run down. In a race that looks to have a lack of early speed, William Pike will have her settle in the lead unrivalled and full of running. Considering Belmont has been favouring on pace runners in recent weeks, especially when the rail is out 6m+, Come Magic should be simply too hard to run down and build on her last stat maiden win.

Best Value at Belmont: Success Play

Neville and Chris Parnham are set to combine with three-year-old gelding Success Play, who despite still being a maiden after five starts, looks well-placed to breakthrough at start six. Having ran on from the rear of the field with great intent over the Belmont 1400m when finishing second, he threw away any winning chance he had when laying in over the final 100m, so if he can right those wrongs, he should prove too hard to hold out at a nice price. In a race that is expected to have a genuine tempo, he will settle in the second half of the field. When the time comes, his turn of foot is a handy one and if he can run in a straight line this time round, he should be too good here.

Best ValueRace 2 – Success Play (#4) $13 with Sportsbet
