The Listed Idyllic Prince Stakes will headline the nine-race program at Belmont Park this Saturday afternoon. The track was rated as a Soft 7 at the time of acceptances, but with more rain forecast for the rest of the week, the surface will be in the Heavy range by raceday. The rail will go back into its true position, with the first race scheduled to kick off at 12:09pm AWST.
Idyllic Prince Stakes tip: Saloon Bar
Saloon Bar flew home down the outside of runners in the Listed Belmont Newmarket over 1200m second-up and appears to be crying out more distance third-up. The Daniel Morton-trained gelding will appreciate a rise in trip to 1300m and a strong tempo in the Idyllic Prince Stakes. Lucy Fiore will be legged aboard for her first ride on this son of Sessions, and if Saloon Bar can replicate his most recent run, he can take out the feature.

Best Bet at Belmont: Deferred
Deferred recorded a hat-trick of wins and remained undefeated in her second racing preparation with a strong victory over 1400m at this track. This daughter of Epaulette is undefeated on Soft and Heavy tracks (3:3-0-0) and should relish in the wet conditions this weekend. Chris Parnham has retained the ride, and if he can keep Deferred out of trouble off the speed, she will win again.

Next Best at Belmont: Soso Lucky
Daniel & Ben Pearce may have unearthed another smart galloper on August 7, when Soso Lucky won dominantly in a Class 3 Handicap at just her second start. The lightly raced four-year-old mare looked as though she was in trouble at the 500m mark, but she picked herself up and rattled home in the inferior ground to win by 2.2 lengths. With Chris Parnham sticking and another Heavy track predicted, Soso Lucky can bring up a hat-trick of wins here.

Best Value at Belmont: Yallingup Girl
Although the form guide reads eighth of 12 last start, Yallingup Girl was taking considerable ground of the rest of the field late and only finished 2.3 lengths off the winner over 1200m first-up. The Neville Parnham-trained mare raced exclusively over 1400m last preparation, and now that she rises to 1300m second-up, she will only improve on Saturday. Steven Parnham can push forward from barrier six, and if Yallingup Girl finishes off as strongly as she did fresh, she will go very close.
